Marsha and John visiting from Canada

Bonjour
This week, we were really lucky to have some special visitors from Canada. It was even more special because it was one of our class buddies grandparents.

This term we have been learning about what is the same/different about ourselves, family and friends. We have also been talking about how our cultures are different but we are the same because we all live in New Zealand.

Marsha and John (Nico's grandparents) came to talk to us about Canada and how it is different to New Zealand. When we heard the word 'Canada' we didn't know what it meant. Marsha showed us how far Canada is from N.Z on the World map. It is pretty far away!

Did you know that Canada is known for their maple syrup? Most of us in the class have never tasted maple syrup.

Thank you Marsha and John for visiting. We hope that you won't be bumping into any bears this year. Take care.

We had a wonderful time at Rowandale School. The students should be proud of how well behaved and inquisitive they are. It was our pleasure to be allowed to spend time with all of the friendly students and staff. We would love to visit again in the future! Au revoir (Nico's Grandparents in )
